Three days ago I looked out the window of my office and idly wondered why the bird feeder was half away across the lawn. When I came downstairs the metal stand that holds the bird feeder, which we keep outside the window of our family room, was bent in half and the ground around it was trampled by very, very big paws. It took the combined efforts of both Marcus and our friend Mike to bend the metal straight again. ( Don't know how we fix the damaged privet hedge.)
The temperate weather has confused our hibernating neighbor who really should be tucked up for the winter by now. It's freezing today and we have snow flurries so I guess that means it's safe to refill the bird feeder... and hope the bear doesn't show again.
